LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bison tennis squads and the Go-Bison-Go "Relay for Life" team of the American Cancer Society have announced the "Aces for a Cure" fundraiser, set to take place during Bucknell's matches against Patriot League foe Lafayette on Sunday, April 10, at 1 p.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Tennis team members and Go-Bison-Go team members will collect pledges for the event. The Go-Bison-Go team is made up of Bucknell staff as well as supporters from the Bucknell community. Each pledge will be multiplied by the total number of aces the Bucknell tennis player hits during their respective match. "The Bison Brats", a group of younger Bison supporters, will also be on hand to help out at the fundraiser. Anyone interested in making a pledge should contact Bucknell head coach Rebecca Helt at helt@bucknell.edu, or 570-577-3598.
Additionally, there will be other special events during the match, including a free drawing for Bison merchandise.
Both Bison tennis teams are off to a great start this spring in which they just completed a week of matches in Orlando, Fla., over spring break. The Bison women are out to an impressive 8-1 start while the men have come back strong to post a 5-7 record so far this season.
