Both Bucknell Tennis Teams Open Spring Break Trip with One Win, One Loss Apiece

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Bison men's and women's tennis team are off and running during their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. So far, both teams stand at 1-1 with the Bison men falling to Stetson, 7-0, and blanking Rhode Island, 7-0. The Bucknell women suffered their first defeat of the season losing to Stephen F. Austin, 5-2, and upending Winona State, 7-0.
Senior Nada Curcic has highlighted play for the Bison women with four wins over the two matches. Curcic combined with partner Veronica Brown for two doubles wins and also picked up two singles decisions. Brown and freshman Daniella Shtemberg are next in line with three wins apiece.
Despite the score, the Bison men played well against Stetson, a team ranked in the top 75 nationally. The Bison men proceeded to run over Rhode Island, winning every match in straight sets.
Both teams will continue to play in Orlando until Wednesday. Other matchups will include Winona State, Cleveland State and Eckerd College on the men's side, and Cleveland State and Eckerd for the women.
