LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Diver Adam Freeman (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) has been named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week after a record breaking performance in the one-meter dive, Saturday at Kinney Natatorium. Freeman's first place showing in the one-meter and second place effort in the three-meter helped the Bison to a 165-135 win over Patriot League foe Lehigh.
Freeman's one-meter score of 313.95 bettered his own school record mark of 299.73 set during the 2003 season. Freeman tallied 272.02 points in the three-meter, good for second-place behind Lehigh's Patrick Ryan with 293.17.
Saturday's win was the fourth of the year for Freeman, who had already racked up one-meter wins against Columbia and at the Bucknell Sprint Invitational as well as a three-meter victory at the Sprint Invitational. Freeman also holds the Bucknell season-best marks in both diving events.
Freeman and the rest of the Bison swimming and diving squad will compete this weekend at the Bison Invitational at Kinney Natatorium, beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday. The Invitational will serve as one last tune-up for the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 24-26, also being hosted by Bucknell.
