Lectie Altman Named Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Lectie Altman (Syracuse, N.Y./William Nottingham) has been named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week after winning two individual gold medals and swimming on three first-place relay teams at the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships, last weekend at Kinney Natatorium. Altman also shattered her own school records in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes.
On Friday evening, Altman bested the field in the 100 back swimming a time of 56.85. Her swim of 56.84 in the preliminary round set a new league and meet records in the individual version of the event. On Thursday night, Altman led off the winning 400 medley relay with a split of 56.29 breaking her own school record in the 100 back as well as setting a new pool record.
On Saturday night, Altman blazed to a second individual gold winning the 200 back in 2:01.57. Altman's time of 2:00.60 in the preliminary round set new school, meet and league records as well met the NCAA "B" standard.
The team of Altman, Jamie Flick, Mary Krakowski and Rebecca Scheffter earned gold in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.44, a school, meet, league and pool record. The record-breaking continued for the Bison in the 400 medley relay with school, meet, league and pool records being set by Altman, Flick, Krakowski and Scheffter with a time of 3:47.48. Bison Laura Goeller, Carlyn Donley, Kristen Skroski and Altman also nabbed a share of the league title in the 800 free relay, tying Navy for the win with identical times of 7:40.85.
Altman and her Bison teammates won their third consecutive Patriot League crown scoring 810 points, 212 points ahead of Navy in second place.
