Mike Bright's Buzzer-Beater Gives White Team 79-77 Win over Blue in 2005 Alumni Game

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Mike Bright '93 scored a layup at the buzzer to give the White squad a 79-77 victory over the Blue squad in the 2005 edition of the Bucknell men's basketball alumni game held at Sojka Pavilion on Saturday, February 12.
Bright's layup came following a timeout called by the White team with just under eight seconds remaining on the clock. Hall of Famer Mike Joseph '90, currently an assistant coach at Hazleton High School, drew up the play in the huddle, and then the squad went out and executed to perfection to secure the victory.
Nyambi Nyambi '01 led the White team with 19 points, followed by Bright with 16, Dyrika Cameron '00 with 14, Joseph with 13, Russell Peyton '93 with 11, Craig Cody '83 with 6, and Grant Tormey '89 a great effort!
The Blue team got a yeoman's effort from Martin Gilliard '99 who led all scorers with 20 points. Sekou Hamer '96 and Willie Callahan '99 were also in double figures with 16 and 12 points, respectively. Jeremiah Bennett '04 (9), Ed Sigl '84 (8), Dave Steigerwald (6) and Doug Allen (6) rounded out the scoring for the Blue squad.
Jim Seel '47, Jack Webber '52, Richard Kniffin '59, John Callaway '78, Kevin Blackwell '85, Steve Beecy '87, Kevin Wenk `96 and Jack Namvou `04 were also in attendance but did not risk injury by battling on the court.
