Bucknell's McNaughton Named to Collegeinsider.com Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior center Chris McNaughton (Leutershausen, Germany/Dientzenhofer Gymnasium) added another preseason accolade to his portfolio when he was named to the collegeinsider.com Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team.
McNaughton, who was previously named Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year, is one of 25 players on the Mid-Major team.
Bucknell is ranked eighth in the collegeinsider.com Preseason Mid-Major Poll.
McNaughton was a First Team All-Patriot League selection last year after averaging 12.6 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. He shot a league-best 59.6 percent from the field and help lead Bucknell to the PL title with a 17-point performance against Holy Cross in the championship game. McNaughton then hit the game-winning shot with 10.5 seconds left in Bucknell's 64-63 victory over Kansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Also named to the Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team were Northeastern's Juan Barea, Cal State Fullerton's Bobby Brown, Detroit's Brandon Cotton, Lamar's Alan Daniels, Creighton's Nate Funk, Virginia Commonwealth's Nick George, Oral Roberts' Caleb Green, Buffalo's Yassin Idbihi, Penn's Ibrahim Jaaber, Northern Iowa's Ben Jacobson, Sr. Mary's Daniel Kickert, Old Dominion's Alex Loughton, Pacific's Christian Maraker, Winthrop's Torrell Martin, New Orleans' Bo McCalebb, Georgia Southern's Elton Nesbitt, Denver's Yemi Nicholson, East Tennessee State's Timmy Smith, Bradley's Marcellus Sommerville, Hofstra's Loren Stokes, Alabama A&M's Obie Trotter, Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Joah Tucker, Oral Roberts' Ken Tutt and Davidson's Brendan Winters.
Bucknell defeated Lock Haven 91-53 in an exhibition game on Saturday night and will open the 2005-06 season at Rider on Nov. 18.
