Bucknell's Men's Tennis Team Complete First Day of Competition at Quinnipiac Invite

HAMDEN, Conn. - Bucknell's men's tennis team completed its first day of competition at the Quinnipiac Invitational on Friday evening in Hamden, Conn. Two of the Bison's doubles teams won two matches each to advance to tomorrow's semi-finals matches in the main-draw bracket.
The Bucknell duo of Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) and John Lashnits (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greely) defeated a team from Fairfield, 9-8 (2) in their first match, and then downed a team from the University of Connecticut in the quarter-finals, 8-2. Brian Cohen (Potomac, Md./Thomas Sprigg Wootton) and Dan Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen Catholic) defeated a Fairfield pair, 8-5, and then dominated over a duo from Holy Cross, 8-1.
The Orange and Blue will return to action on Saturday as the two pairs will finish competing in the doubles main draw and the squad will begin singles competition.
