LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell and Lehigh, the Patriot League's top two teams entering weekend play, will square off on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sojka Pavilion, but prior to that important contest there will be a benefit for Suncom Industries, entitled "Dirk Sojka's Slam Dunk with Bison Basketball."
Suncom Industries is a private non-profit organization providing services to adults with disabilities. It offers many services to help people reach their potential to be a contributing member of their community. Suncom was the workplace of Dirk Sojka, the son of Gary and Sandy Sojka, until Dirk's passing in July 2002.
The festivities get underway at noon on Sunday with a basketball competition featuring members of the Suncom organization. That will be followed by an exhibition game between the WQKX All-Stars and a team of Bucknell student-athletes.
Throughout the day a silent auction will be held, with proceeds benefitting Suncom Industries. Also, a 42" plasma television will be raffled off.
