The Midshipmen boat was 15 seconds faster than Bucknell's 7:30, but the Orange and Blue edged out Lehigh by two seconds, and defeated Colgate, a team they had also beaten just a week earlier, by 10 seconds. Holy Cross (7:43) and American (7:48) rounded out the field.
In the varsity races, the Bison struggled a bit. The second varsity eight turned in a solid third-place finish behind Navy and Colgate. The varsity eight was in trouble from the start as the crew's rudder broke and was not fully functional throughout the race, causing immediate challenges. The group of coxswain Kyra Harris, stroke Jill Harrington, 7 Joan Wendler, 6 Lauren Olsen, 5 Vi Ngo, 4 Teal Zeisler, 3 Jessica Noonan, 2 Alexis Will and bow Rachel Trusheim was forced to stop several times during the race because of the equipment issues, and finished the race in last place.
