Bucknell Baseball Receives Votes in Regional Poll

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell baseball team earned three votes in the Mar. 9 CollegeBaseballInsider.com Top 15 Poll for northeastern schools. The Bison are 3-3 after taking one out of three two weeks ago from James Madison, ranked No. 5 in the region, and taking two out of three from Fordham.
Two other Bucknell opponents appear in the receiving votes section of the poll. Patriot League-rival Lehigh earned 11 nominations, while Vermont got four. The Bison will meet the Catamounts for one game in Florida on Monday, Mar. 15, while Lehigh comes to town Apr. 3-4.
Bucknell's outfield is leading the team offensively, with centerfielder Kyle Walter hitting .476, corner outfielder Chris Grandizio hitting .400, and rightfielder Brian Hirschberg averaging .357. Matt Daley has emerged as Bucknell's most successful starter in the young season, going 2-0 with a 6.23 ERA.
The Bison take their game to Florida beginning Sunday for seven games. Columbia, Vermont, Fairfield, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Dartmouth will test Bucknell in the Sunshine State.
