WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Elyse Pultz and Andie Moll both had three goals to lead Columbia to an 11-6 victory past the Bison in West Palm Beach, Florida. Bucknell got off to slow start to their spring training contest, trailing 2-0 in the first six minutes. The Orange and Blue rallied at the 22:35 mark with a low shot netted by Andrea Paraud. The Bison followed the Paraud tally with a connection from Katie Edge to Amy Hasler at 21:55, tying the game at 2-2.
The Lions came back with a cage from Pultz, assisted by Carrie Anderer, to take a 3-2 lead. For the sixth goal of the game, Katie Warner passed to Moll at 17:47 for a 4-2 score. A minute later, Pultz netted an 8-meter shot past goaltender Lizzie McDaniel.
Bucknell rallied with a pair of goals from Meredith Wright at the 10:48 and 8:30 marks.
Tough efforts were put forth by Lauren Kremer and Tory Field in the midfield to slow Columbia's run.
Annie Greenspun and Abby Brewster were a physical voice on the defensive end, helping Bucknell narrow the scoring gap to 5-4. The Lions pulled out a goal with under a half minute remaining to close out the half at 6-4.
In the second half of play, Columbia opened up with a score from Warner, assisted by Grace Sterritt, after an official's call gave the ball to Columbia on their defensive end. Columbia made it 8-4 at 25:44 with a goal by Sydney Linder.
The Bison answered back with two more goals from Hasler at 13:25 and Laura Nuss off a penalty shot at 12:44, but that would be the last time the Bison would score on the day.
Columbia's final three goals came from Moll. The Lions improved to 3-1 on the season and the Orange and Blue fell to 2-3.
The Bison return on campus early Thursday morning and return to league play with their next contest at Lafayette on Saturday, March 20.
