Bison Tennis Announces Captains for Spring Season

LEWISBURG, Pa. - With the 2005 spring sports seasons just a few months away, the Bucknell men's and women's tennis teams have decided upon their captains for the upcoming season. Seniors Nick Denefrio and Gerald DiChiara will take the reins as captains of the men's squad while fellow seniors Tanya Sichko and Nada Curcic will serve as captains of the women's team.
Denefrio (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna) is making his second appearance as a captain after serving as captain last season. During the fall season, Denefrio went 9-4 in tournament play. DiChiara (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) posted a record of 7-4 this fall including a tournament title in the eighth flight of the Northeast Intercollegiate Championships in September.
On the women's side, Curcic (Belgrade, Serbia/3rd Belgrade) notched a 12-1 record during the fall after being named to the All-Patriot-League first team last spring. Curcic topped the A brackets of the Quinnipiac and Bucknell Invitational as well as taking the school record for most doubles wins. Sichko (Boulder, Colo. /Fairview) also had a solid fall going 7-4 overall and picking up five wins in doubles competition.
Both the Bison men and women pick up the spring schedule on Feb. 12, versus Quinnipiac in Hamden, Conn.
