Bucknell Men's Cross Country Places Fifth at League Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Dan Lounsbury led the Bison cross country squad on Saturday at the Patriot League Championships at the Bucknell Golf Club. The Bison earned a fifth place finish in the team standings while American three-peated as conference champions.
Lounsbury, the first Bison to cross the finish line, finished 21st overall with a time of 26:35.82 for eight-kilometers. Sophomore Matt Forys was on Lounsbury's heals finishing 24th in 26:42.40. Senior Doug Creveling was third for the Bison, finishing 27th in 26:49.79.
Senior Travis Rivers was next in line for the Bison in 32nd place (26:55.18) followed by freshman Michael Gibney in 37th position (27:04.60). Ryan Delaney crossed the line as Bucknell's sixth runner in 41st place (27:14.04). Stephen Schaefer finished out the Bison top seven in 43rd place.
American dominated the team competition with 19 points and the top four finishers with Pat Macadie leading the way in 25:37 for his second-consecutive Patriot League title.
In the race for second place, Navy notched 71 points just ahead of Army with 78. Lehigh followed in fourth with 89 and Bucknell took fifth with 136.
Next on the Bison schedule is the NCAA Mid-East Regional Championship on Nov. 13, at Penn State.
