LEWISBURG, Pa. - The first of two preseason men's basketball contests open to the public is slated for Thursday evening when Pat Flannery's Bison squad splits up for an Orange vs. Blue intrasquad game. The scrimmage begins at 7:30 p.m. at Sojka Pavilion.
Kevin Bettencourt, the Patriot League's leading returning scorer, will team with senior Chris Niesz and sophomore standouts Abe Badmus and Donald Brown for the Orange team. Junior Tarik Viaer-McClymont and freshman Andrew Morrison will also suit up for the Orange.
The Blue squad will be led by Charles Lee and Chris McNaughton, who joined Bettencourt on the preseason all-conference team, along with three of the squad's four newcomers in John Griffin, Rob Thomas and Darren Mastropaolo. Sophomore John Clark and junior Holland Mack round out the Blue unit.
On Saturday, Nov. 6, Bucknell will host Indiana (Pa.) in an exhibition contest at Sojka Pavilion. The 7 p.m. game caps a busy day of Homecoming events on campus. That will be the team's final tuneup prior to the Nov. 11 season opener against Princeton at the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.
