LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior Jessica Le (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion H.S.), the starting setter for the Bison volleyball team, has been named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week following a record-setting performance in Friday's 3-1 Patriot League victory at Holy Cross.
Le distributed 66 assists in that key conference win, breaking the previous single-match record of 61 set by Breean Trapasso against Colgate on Oct. 18, 2002. The 66 assists are the most by any player in the Patriot League this season.
Le also had 32 assists in a three-game loss at Army the following night and finished the week with a gaudy 14.0 assist-per-game ratio.
A first-year starter, Le is averaging 10.60 assists per game this season for the 10-8 Bison (4-3 PL). She is mired in a three-way battle for the Patriot League assist lead, currently ranking third behind only Navy's Ashley Musser (10.76) and American's Courtney Mulford (10.61). Only 11 assists separates the three players.
Bucknell returns home on Wednesday evening to entertain Colgate in a Patriot League tilt beginning at 7 p.m.
