Bucknell Women's Tennis Continues at West Virginia's Martha Thorn Invitational

Morgantown, W. Va. - Rheanna Gaskin, Samantha Berthod, Cheslea Mills, Rebecca Kral, Kelly Porter, and Renee Clinton competed in singles matches today in at the West Virginia University Martha Thorn Invitational for the Bison, and Berthod and Gaskin continued play on the doubles side.
Berthod and Gaskin advanced to the finals of their doubles flight B with a win over Aimee Lim and Elizabeth Anderson of Maryland-Baltimore County, 8-3. In the final match, the Bucknell duo lost to Ashley Constantine and Catherine Koontz of West Virginia, 8-2
In flight B's main draw, Gaskin won her third-round match against Lyndsey Nott of Army, 6-4, 7-5, but fell in the semifinals to Ashley Constantine of West Virginia, 6-2, 6-1. In the back draw, Samantha Berthod won her match against Dayton's Kara Metzger, 8-2 in a pro-set format, but fell in the semi-finals to Villanova's Kelly McAndrew, 8-5.
In flight C's main draw, Mills lost to Alexandra del Moral of Army, 6-0, 6-1, and Jessica Liberatore of Loyola beat Kral, 8-3
In flight D's back draw, Claire Najour of Loyola beat Porter, 8-3, while teammate Clinton also fell to West Virginia's Sydney Thornhill, 8-0.
The Bison will return to action on September 14 at noon at St. Joseph's.
