Bucknell Suffers 11-3 Loss to 16th-Ranked Hartwick

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bucknell women's water polo team struggled to get its offense going, dropping an 11-3 decision to 16th-ranked Hartwick in the second game of the ECAC Championship, being held at Princeton, on April 5.
Hartwick built a 3-0 lead after one quarter, and extended it to a 7-1 lead at the intermission. The Orange and Blue were held scoreless again in the third frame, before matching Hartwick's goals in the fourth for the 11-3 loss.
Senior Katie Stahler, despite the loss, had a strong game for Bucknell. The tri-captain scored two of BU's three goals, while also collecting five steals and drawing three ejections. Freshman Kaitlin Bardoe scored the other goal for the Orange and Blue.
Sophomore Meg Blitzer was another defensive specialist for the Bison, registering three steals in the game.
Bucknell falls to 10-12 overall. The squad will be in action next in the fifth-place game at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6. The opponent is still undetermined.
