Bison Women's Tennis Earns 7-0 Win at Mount St. Mary's

EMMITSBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's tennis team did not lose a set in singles play, on the way to a 7-0 win at Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, April 3. The shutout was BU's fifth of the season.
In doubles play, freshman Veronica Brown and Nadezda Curcic teamed up to defeat Kelli Louis and Heather Whetstone at number one, 8-4. Rookie Rheanna Gaskin and sophomore Tanya Sichko secured the doubles point with an 8-0 win at number two, and junior Samantha Berthod and freshman Chelsea Mills paired up to blank Heidi Nielsen and Juliana Ocampos-Barry, 8-0, at the third flight.
Four different players won their singles bouts without dropping a game, including Brown, Sichko, Berthod and Mills. Gaskin dropped only one game at the fourth flight for a 6-1, 6-0 win over Elizabeth Nell, and Curcic handled Louis in a 6-1, 6-2 win at the first flight.
The Bison are 10-1 overall and will play again this weekend, hosting Patriot League rival Colgate on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and non-conference foe Towson on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
