Theresa Dennis Named March Female Athlete of the Month for Track and Field

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior Theresa Dennis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Hanover Area) has received the March Athlete of the Month Award for indoor track and field from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.
The March awards were announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, April 3. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of March, as selected by their respective coaches, were Cody Keffer for women's water polo, Jill Wurzburg for women's tennis, Lauren Wible and Lauren Box for softball, Nicole Kallis for women's lacrosse, and Amy Jones for women's golf.
At UMBC "Big Dawg Invitational", Dennis earned a bronze medal in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:45.63. Last weekend at the NC State- Raleigh Relays, Dennis completed the 10K in 36:18.28 and placed 13th overall. The senior now stands fourth on BU's all-time charts. This is the second time throughout the 2002-03 season Dennis has received the monthly award.
The Bison will visit the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., on April 4-5 for the Colonial Relays. The Orange and Blue will host their first outdoor meet of the 2003 season, Bucknell Quadrangular, on April 11-12.
The next Women's Sport Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 24 at noon.
