Gaskin Reaches Singles Consolation Final at ECAC Championships

West Point, N.Y. - While Rheanna Gaskin won two singles matches to reach tomorrow's final of her number one singles flight consolation draw, teammates Samantha Berthod, Chelsea Mills, and Tanya Sichko completed their competition today in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Army.
Gaskin beat third-seeded Whitney Simcik of Connecticut, 9-8(3) in the draw's quarterfinals, and followed it up with an 8-5 win over Becky Emmers of Pittsburgh to face Kristen Harris of Howard in tomorrow's final at 9 a.m.
In the number two singles consolation draw, Sichko won her quarterfinal match against Emily Hughes of Pittsburgh, 8-5, but fell to Aditi Krishnan of Niagara, 8-4 in her semifinal match.
In the main draw of flight three, a day after getting her 51st win at Bucknell to move atop the all-time singles wins list for a career, Berthod fell to fourth-seeded Alison Adamski of Connecticut, 4-6, 6-1, (10-7) in her quarterfinal match.
In the man draw of flight four, Mills beat Lensey Dixon of New Hampshire, 6-3, 6-2, but fell to second-seeded Jennifer LoRusso of Connecticut, 6-1, 6-2 in her semifinal match.
