Bison Cross Country Teams Compete At Spiked Shoe Meet

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Bucknell University men's and women's cross country teams competed in Penn State's Spiked Shoe Meet Saturday afternoon. The men's team finished third out of a total of 20 teams, while the women completed the meet second out of 17 teams.
The men's team compiled a team score of 120, and finished behind Oklahoma State and Penn State for the team title. Junior Wesley Reinhardt ran the 5.2-mile course in 26:49.14 to finish in 11th place over all and first for the Bison. Junior Nicholas Mousetis also came within the top 25 runners clocking 27:21.75(24th).
Rounding out the teams scoring for the men's team was sophomore Douglas Creveling (27th, 27:30.19), junior Marcus Jones (30th, 27:35.38), and senior Eric Furst (33rd, 38.61). The Bison had a total of 24 participants entered in the meet.
The women's team gathered a team score of 82, and finished behind host Penn State running a 6K course. Setting the team's pace was senior Theresa Dennis with a time of 22:25.43 to place ninth overall. Following behind Dennis, included newcomers freshmen Alison Cole (16th, 22:56.72), Kayla Halloran (18th, 23:02.69), and Rachel Tutmaher (19th, 23:04.99) in the top 25 runners. Finishing the scoring for the women was senior Nicki Piper clocking in at 23:31.01. The women's team had a total of 22 runners entered in the meet.
Bucknell will return to action next Saturday, Sept. 14, when they travel to West Point, N.Y. to compete against Patriot League foe Army.
