Bucknell Women's Volleyball Conclude Stony Brook Tournament

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Bucknell women's volleyball team fell to host Stony Brook, 3-1, and was victorious over Providence, 3-1 during the conclusion of the Holiday Inn Express Tournament on Saturday.
Bucknell started strong in the first game to earn a 30-28 victory over the Stony Brook Seawolves. The Bison then fell the next three games, 30-18, 30-19, and 30-28, to the host. Senior Melanie Ghiz and junior Brandi Trapasso tallied 13 kills each against the Seawolves. Junior Breean Trapasso set 38 times for the Bison.
The Bison played the second match of the day against Providence and produced a 3-1 victory over the Friars. Providence struggled with the Bison to turn out a close 30-28 win in the first game. Bucknell came back with stealth to win the next three games, 30-19, 30-25, and 30-28.
The Bison close the weekend with a 3-3 record. Named to the All-Tournament team for the Bison were Ghiz and Breean Trapasso.
Bucknell will travel on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. to face Howard University. The Bison will also prepare this week to host the Bucknell Invitational on Sept. 13-14.
