Bison Volleyball Mark A Victory Over Howard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Bison captured a 3-1 victory over Howard Tuesday evening. Defensive specialists sophomore Carolyn Dougherty and freshman Jessica Le teamed up to aid the Bison to a victory.
Bucknell set the pace in the first game of the evening. The Bison came through with a 30-22 victory over the Lady Bison of Howard. The team hit .312 during the first game.
"Our defensive side was outstanding and has been a tremendous help with winning our games," stated head coach Cindy Opalski. "Our offense played an incredible game as well."
The Orange and Blue put up a fight during the second game, but fell 32-30 to Howard. The Bison then challenged Howard for the third game and came out victorious over the Lady Bison, 30-27.
"Howard was an excellent hitting team, one of the best we have seen this season, and we worked hard to protect ourselves from talent as such," mentioned Opalski.
Bucknell then captured the match with a 30-28 win in the fourth game of the evening. Breean Trapasso marked 47 assists, while Brandi Trapasso, along with Melanie Ghiz, had a total of 27 kills for the evening.
The Bison come off the court with a 4-3 overall record.
Bucknell will host the Bull Run Inn-vitational this weekend, Sept. 13-14. The Bison will face Albany on Friday at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 14, the Bison will play Quinnipiac at noon and LaSalle at 4 p.m.
