Bucknell Cross Country At Messiah Dual Meet

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Bucknell University men's and women's cross country teams competed against Messiah on Saturday morning. The men's team defeated the Falcons,18-43, while the women fell to the Falcons, 21-39.
The men's team placed seven of their runners in the top 10. For the Bison, Sean McCarthy placed first overall with a time of 27:32 and Kevin Walsh crossed the line second with a time of 27:38. Rounding out the top 10 runners for the Bison was Daniel Lounsbury (4th, 28:01), Eric Heikkila (5th, 28:14), Ryan Delaney (6th, 28:19), Kevin Fortkiewicz (8th, 28:31), and Andrew Dinsmore (9th, 28:39).
The women's cross country placed three of their runners in the top 10 finishers. Top runners for Bucknell included Megan Schollenberger, who placed third with a time of 20:48, Jennifer O'Connor, who crossed the line fourth with a time of 20:52, and Jennifer Malcolm, who placed ninth with a time of 21:07.
Bucknell will return to action when they host the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell on Saturday, Oct. 5.
