Bucknell Women's Golf Places 7th at Yale Invite

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Backed by a pair of 79s, senior Molly Campbell tied for 13th overall and led Bucknell to a seventh-place team finish at the Yale Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at the Yale University Golf Club.
The Bison finished with a 36-hole team score of 655 after shooting 332 on Sunday. Penn State shot 591 to win the event by 20 strokes over runner-up Yale. Bucknell finished in a logjam in the middle of the pack, trailing fourth-place Harvard by only four shots. Only six strokes separated fourth through ninth place.
After carding a school-record 74 in the opening round, Bucknell sophomore Jaime Hays shot 86 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 18th place. Jess Hetrich (85-81) tied for 31st, Kelly Evans (85-86) tied for 45th, while Julie Fetterman (90-89) tied for 54th.
Penn State's Katie Futcher was the only player in the field to finish under par. She fired a 3-under 137 (67-70) for the tournament to run away with medallist honors by 12 strokes over Yale's Jeehae Lee and Brown's Amy Behrman.
Bucknell returns to action next weekend at the Princeton Invitational.
