Bison Thrower Adam Kaufman Named ECAC Field Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior Adam Kaufman has been named as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 21.
Kaufman placed first in the hammer throw at the Bucknell Quadrangular on April 20, helping the Bison defeat Kent State, La Salle and Robert Morris. With a heave of 176'9", Kaufman established the fifth-best throw in school history.
Kaufman also won the hammer throw on April 13, when he placed first in the event at the Bison Open with a toss of 168'6 ?".
An eighth-place finisher in the weight throw at the 2002 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championship, Kaufman is tied for sixth on Bucknell's all-time top-10 list in the indoor weight throw at 53'1 ?".
A portion of Bucknell's track squads will compete at the prestigious Penn Relays on Thursday through Saturday. The remainder of the teams will travel to either the Millersville Metrics or the College of New Jersey Lions' Invitational on Saturday.
