MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Bucknell's women's tennis team begin its Spring Break swing on a positive note with a 7-0 whitewash of Radford Sunday night. The Bison did not lose a set in singles and yielded a total of only four games in three doubles pro-sets.
Freshman Nadezda Curcic handled the No. 1 singles chores, scoring a 6-4, 6-1 win over Morroccan Jihone Najdi. Jill Wurzburg was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Sydney Lindsay at No. 2. Laura Maisel, Tanya Sichko, Samantha Berthod and Dana Pratt also won in straight sets, with Berthod yielding only a single game in a 6-0, 6-1 pasting of Barbara Wilson at No. 5.
Berthod was equally stingy in doubles, teaming with Kristen Pugno for an 8-0 blanking of Wilson and Geneva Dooley at No. 3. Sichko and Kristin Inglis were 8-1 winners at No. 1, while Maisel and Wurzburg teamed for an 8-3 win at No. 2.
Bucknell continues its five-match Spring Break trip on Monday against Indiana State at 8 a.m.
