Bucknell Cross Country Competed In The IC4A and ECAC Championships

BRONX, N.Y. - The Bucknell University men's cross country team completed its season while participating in the IC4A Championships, while the women's team competed in the ECAC Championships, Saturday afternoon. The women's team placed fourth out of 14 teams and the men's team finished fifth out of 17 teams.
The women's team completed the meet race fourth with 92 points. The men's team completed the race fifth with 168 points. Top runners for the Bison included Theresa Dennis and Bryan Johnston. Dennis crossed the line placing fourth during the women's race at 18:02.8. Johnston placed 10th with a time of 25:38.9.
"Our ladies had a wonderful season. It is quiet an accomplishment for this young team, with four freshmen among out top seven runners, to place second in the Patriot League, sixth in the Mid-Atlantic and fourth in the ECAC," mentions head coach Kevin Donner. "It is really nice to see our top two runners, Theresa Dennis and Nicki Piper, earn All-East status. They had fabulous seasons and both were great leaders.
The women's team completed the championship with Nicki Piper placing 19th with a time of 18:45.0. The entire team placed above the top 50 out of 71 runners. Rounding off the scoring for the Bison were Rachel Tutmaher (27th, 18:58.9), Kayla Halloran (29th, 19:01.0), Alison Cole (30th, 19:01.6), Jamie Gow (33rd, 19:07.2) and Katie Pfeifer (43rd, 19:23.2).
On the men's side of finishers, including Johnston, Lou Palma (28th, 25:58.4) , Eric Furst (34th, 26:09.1) finished in the top 50 runners. Doug Creveling (55th, 26:29.0), Stephen Schaffer (57th, 26:33.5), Nick Mousetis (61st, 26.39.0) and Wes Reinhart (69th, 26:44.7) finished out the scoring for the Bison. Rounding out the runners for Bucknell includes Jesse Graytock (93rd, 27:06.1), Kevin Brown (98th, 27:10.3), Dan Lounsbury (102nd, 27:15.1) and Kevin Walsh (121st, 27:38.7).
"Considering where we were at one month ago, I am very pleased with how we finished the season," stated Donner. "We could have lost faith when things started to go wrong, but we kept working hard and plugging away."
Bucknell cross country teams have completed their season and will now concentrate on the upcoming indoor track and field campaign.
