Bucknell Postgame Notes November 2, 2002 vs. Holy Cross
A disastrous first half led to Bucknell's fourth straight loss, a 38-21 setback at Holy Cross ... the Bison fell to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in Patriot League play ... it is Bucknell's first four-game losing streak within one season since 1996, when the Herd opened 1-4 before rallying to finish 6-5 and win a Patriot League title ... Bucknell had not lost four straight league games since 1992 ... Holy Cross led 24-0 after one quarter and 31-0 at the half ... Bucknell committed six turnovers, including a fumble on its second play from scrimmage that led to a Crusader touchdown just 1:56 into the contest ... Holy Cross QB Brian Hall threw four TD passes and Dave Seger returned a blocked punt five yards for a touchdown ... sophomore QB Cole Ciesnolevicz made his second career start and had a rough day ... Ciesnolevicz, who had a solid outing last week at Georgetown, completed 13 of 27 passes for 89 yards, but he was intercepted four times and fumbled twice ... senior QB Todd Wenrich came on in the fourth quarter and led two touchdown drives ... he tossed an 8-yard TD pass to senior WR Jim Horan and also ran for a 2-yard score ... Wenrich was 6 of 10 for 97 yards ... freshman RB Antwan Kennedy set up the final touchdown with a nifty 38-yard catch and run to the Holy Cross 4 ... Kennedy finished with 148 all-purpose yards - 83 on kickoff returns, 49 receiving yards and 16 rushing yards ... Horan was the game's leading receiver with six grabs for 56 yards, and he now has four TD passes in his last five games ... Horan now has 157 career catches, 16 shy of Tom Mitchell's Bucknell record ... Bucknell dropped its fifth straight road game, its longest since 1993 ... the Bison are assured of a losing season for the first time since 1994 ... entering the 2002 season Bucknell was one of only nine Division I-AA teams with seven or more consecutive winning seasons ... the Bison play their first home game in 35 days next week against Lafayette ... the Homecoming Day game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. and will be televised on Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh.
