Bucknell's Bryan Johnston and Theresa Dennis Named Runners of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's senior cross country runners, Bryan Johnston (Kane, Pa./Kane Area) and Theresa Dennis (Wilkes Barre, Pa./Hanover Area) were named Patriot League Runners of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Johnston and Dennis both led the Bison during the Gulden Invitational this past weekend.
Johnston, Bucknell's top runner, completed the 8K course third overall with a time of 25:02, just four seconds behind the meet winner Jacob Flynn of Central Michigan. The men's cross country team placed third at the Gulden Invitational held at Bucknell on Saturday, Oct. 5. The men fell behind nationally ranked Central Michigan, who placed first, and Cansius during the meet.
Dennis guided the Bison to a first place finish with a third place individual finish. She crossed the line at 22:46 on the 6K course, less than a minute behind the race winner. The women's team surpassed Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Duquesne to mark a first place finish with 33 points.
Bucknell will return to action in two weeks, when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind. for the NCAA Pre-National Championship on Saturday, Oct. 19.
