Bucknell Volleyball Drops 3-1 To American

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's volleyball dropped to Patriot League opponent American 3-1 on Friday night. Junior Brandi Trapasso led the team with 25 digs, while sophomore Jackie Leahy marked 14 kills for Bucknell.
The Bison put up a hard fight during Friday nights match. The Orange and Blue fell to American in the first game of the night with a score of 30-28. The Bison came back onto the floor to play a head-to-head game with the Eagles, but came up short in a 36-34 score. Bucknell put the pressure on American as they came back in the third game to capture a 30-27 victory. The Eagles captured the win in the fourth game, 30-26.
Sophomore Jackie Leahy led the team with 14 kills, while senior Jennifer Wrigley and junior Brandi Trapasso each marked 13 kills. Senior Melanie Ghiz completed 11 kills and four solo blocks for the Bison. Brandi Trapasso led the team with 25 digs, and freshman Chelsea Anderson added 12. Also in double figures for the Bison in the dig column were sophomore Chelsea Robertson (11), Wrigley (11), and junior Breean Trapasso (10). Breean Trapasso tallied 49 assists for Bucknell.
The Bison now hold a 7-8 overall record and are 1-2 in the Patriot League. Bucknell will face Patriot League Conference opponent Navy on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Davis Gymnasium.
