Theresa Dennis Wins Athlete of the Month

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell senior Theresa Dennis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Hanover Area) has received the September Athlete of the Month Award for cross country from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, Oct. 3. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of September, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Melanie Ghiz in volleyball, senior Tara Utchel and junior Lindsey Gentel for field hockey.
Dennis is a fourth year participant with the Bison and a three-year letter winner. She has placed third in the past three meets. Dennis has finished first for the Bison during the three meets.
The cross country team hosts the Gulden Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5. Women's race will begin at 10 a.m. at the Bucknell Golf Course, and the men's race will follow at 10:45 a.m.
