LEWISBURG, Pa. - Stacey Schramm, a former player at Monmouth University, has been named an assistant softball coach at Bucknell University, head coach Janelle Breneman announced. Schramm is a 2001 graduate of the West Long Branch, N.J., school.
"Stacey brings a high level of competitiveness and enthusiasm to the softball field," coach Breneman stated. "Her previous coaching experience and passion for the game will be an asset to the program."
During her playing days at Monmouth, Schramm was a four-year starter at short stop. She served as the team captain during her junior and senior seasons with the Hawks. As a junior, Schramm was named a First-Team All-Northeast Conference selection for her play. During her final season at Monmouth, she was honored as an All-American Scholar and a Woman of the Year Nominee.
Upon graduating from Monmouth, the special education major spent a year working at Northern Burlington County Regional High School as a teacher and assistant coach to the 2002 New Jersey state champions. In addition, she was an assistant coach for the South Jersey Hornets, an ASA travel team.
Since 1998, Schramm has been working various camps, including the Monmouth University summer camp where she taught softball fundamentals and skills to girls aged 9-15. She was also a camp counselor at Camp Chen-A-Wanda, a sleep-away camp where she coached softball, soccer and basketball to the entire camp.
