LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell University leadership is continuing to review issues related to Tuesday's tragic and devastating events in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Western Pennsylvania, and an announcement regarding the status of this weekend's athletic competitions will be made Thursday.
An update on the status of those competitions will be posted on www.BucknellBison.com once official.
No mid-week athletic events had been on the schedule for any of Bucknell's fall varsity teams, however a full slate of activity is slated for Friday through Sunday. The Bison volleyball, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, men's water polo and men's golf teams have home competitions, while the football and men's and women's cross country are all on the road.
Bucknell President Steffen H. Rogers released the following statement on the university Web site: "On behalf of the entire Bucknell community, I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to the families, loved ones, and friends of all those affected by this week's attacks on New York and Washington, and the plane crash in Pennsylvania. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. To the Bucknell family especially, I would like to say that as news continues to emerge, we all must do everything we can to support each other and to help each other deal with the horror of these unprecedented attacks on our country."
