Women's Lacrosse Player Ashley Evans Named to Mid-Atlantic Regional All-America Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior tri-captain Ashley Evans (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) has received Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American honors in the sport of women's lacrosse. The team was announced on Wednesday, May 9. Evans was a member of the second team for the first time in her career.
An attack for the Bison, Evans started every one of Bucknell's contests her final two seasons. In 2001, she led the squad in scoring with career-highs in goals (36) and assists (15) for 51 points. Her 36 goals were a team-high, and her 15 assists were second best on the squad. Taking only 78 shots on the year, Evan's was a true scoring threat with 46.2% accuracy on her shot. The Bucknell squad's face-off specialist, she also led the team in draw controls per game, scooping up 2.00 each time out. Evans completed her career in the Orange and Blue with a selection to the All-Patriot League First-Team, after being named a member of the second-team as a junior. Among Patriot League players, she was third in the league in overall points per game and assists per game. She closes out her collegiate career with 99 goals and 33 assists. Her goal total ranks her fourth on Bucknell's all-time career goals list, while her assist numbers place her fifth on the all-time helpers list.
Bucknell finished its season on a four-game win streak, the third longest streak in the nation, ending the year 7-8 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League.
