LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Kallis (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) was named the Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 15. It is the second-straight honor for the sophomore this season.
Kallis wins the award after a 1-0 week in which she recorded 17 saves on 30 shots, allowing just five goals, in Bucknell's first Patriot League victory of the season over Villanova. Kallis stopped five free-position shots against the Wildcats, keeping Bucknell's playoff hopes alive.
Through 12 games, Kallis ranks third in the Patriot League in goals allowed per game (9.10) and second in save percentage (.606). Her save percentage also ranks her sixth in the country in that category.
Bucknell is currently 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the Patriot League. The Bison are in action again on Saturday, April 21, when they travel to Lehigh for a crucial Patriot League matchup with the Mountain Hawks at 1:00 p.m.
