Trio Compete For The Bison In Pentathlon On First Day of Patriot League Indoor Track Championships

Annapolis, Md. - This afternoon the Bucknell Indoor Track & Field opened up competition in the Halsey Field House on the campus of Navy in the pentathlon. Competing for the Bison were freshmen Jamie Lilien (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) and Lura Wasileski (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) and for the men senior Matt Murdock (Donora, Pa./Ringgold).
Lilien finished third in the women's event while her classmate, Wasileski, took ninth place. The most outstanding performance of the afternoon was by Lilien when she high jumped a height of 5'5 1/4" to move into the fourth best slot in Bucknell history. She finished with a total of 3271 points and Wasileski finished with 2287 points. Wasileski had a solid distance in the long jump of 15' 1 1/2".
In the men's pentathlon, Murdock took sixth place out of 11 competitors on the strength of a strong showing in the high jump and the long jump. Murdock cleared a height of 6' 5 1/2" in the high jump a cleared a distance of 19' 7" in the long jump. He finished the afternoon with a total of 3278 points.
The second day of competition will continue tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. with the 35 lb. weight throw.
