WILKES, Pa. --Brian Falciglia was Bucknell's lone placewinner at the Wilkes Open Wrestling Tournament, taking fourth in the 197-pound class. Teammate Brian Neuman just missed placing in his third straight tournament but went 4-2 at 184 pounds in a fine showing.

Falciglia went 5-2 at the tournament, losing only to Penn State's Joel Edwards in both the quarterfinals and consolation finals. Falciglia scored a narrow 12-9 win over SUNY Morrisville's Patrick Bennett and a 6-2 win over Cornell's Ryan Gruver to reach the quarters before falling 3-0 to Edwards. Three more wins put him in the consy finals, where Edwards came up with a fall in 3:30 to take third place.

Neuman also reached the quarterfinals with a 13-4 major decision over Angelo Perri of East Stroudsburg and a 3-1 sudden-victory triumph over Rudy Medini of Rutgers. A 5-2 loss to Cornell's Mark McGaurn sent Neuman to the consolation bracket, where he won twice more but fell just one win shy of a chance to finish in the top four.

Bucknell's only other multiple winner was 141-pounder Andrew Bernstein, who shook off an opening-round loss to post three straight wins in the consolation round. Most impressive was a 3-0 blanking of Navy's Steve Raulli.

Bucknell returns to action on Jan. 12 with a home dual against Slippery Rock at 1 p.m.
