Men's Water Polo Qualifies for Easterns with 13-2 Win over Washington & Jefferson

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Freshman Aaron Platshon (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo School) led the team with five goals and four steals as the Bucknell men's water polo squad defeated Washington & Jefferson, 13-2, at the Southern Division Championship being held at Navy on Saturday.
Platshon, who was five-of-five on scoring attempts, also drew one ejection and was one-for-one on sprints. Junior Daniel Lonnerdal (Davis, Calif./Davis) was the only other multiple goal scorer in a team victory, tallying twice, while also handing out two assists.
Senior goalkeeper David Kennedy (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School) started the game in the net, recording four saves and allowing no goals. The co-captain also had three assists and one steal in the winning effort. Freshman Ernest Martin (Winchester, Calif./Perris) played nearly the entire second half, making three stops and registering one steal.
The Orange and Blue improve to 11-14 overall while defeating Washington & Jefferson for the second time this season. With the victory, Bucknell qualified for the Eastern Championship, being held November 17-18 at Princeton. In addition, the Bison, who face 12th-ranked Navy at 4:15 p.m. this afternoon, have assured themselves no lower than fourth place at the Southern Division Championship.
