Bucknell Volleyball Knocks Off Holy Cross in Four

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Shannon Walker registered a match-high 23 kills on .421 hitting, and the Bucknell University volleyball team broke a two-match losing streak with a 3-1 (22-30, 30-27, 30-26, 30-26) victory at Holy Cross in Patriot League action this evening.
The Bison improved to 11-9 and 7-5 in the Patriot League with the win, while Holy Cross dropped to 11-12 and 3-7 in league play.
Freshman Jackie Leahy tallied a match-high four service aces to go with 12 kills for the Bison, while senior Melanie Gray added 11 kills and four blocks (two solo). Also reaching double figures for the Orange and Blue were senior Whitney Williams, who totaled a match-high 42 assists, and sophomore Brandi Trapasso, who led all players with 12 digs.
Carissa Bennett paced the Crusaders with match-highs of 23 kills and five blocks.
Bucknell continues its Patriot League schedule tomorrow with a 7 p.m. meeting at Army.
