LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell junior Molly Campbell has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of October in golf.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, Oct. 8. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of October, as selected by their respective coaches, were junior Sonja Wettergreen in field hockey, sophomore Brandi Trapasso in volleyball, senior Ali Chandler in soccer and senior Becki Marshall in cross country.
Campbell has turned in a pair of solid performances to help the Bison finish near the top in its last two invitationals. On Sept. 23-24, Campbell was Bucknell's top overall finisher at the Yale Invitational, as she tied for 21st out of 90 competitors with a 36-hole score of 159. Bucknell finished seventh out of 17 teams at one of the toughest courses in the nation at Yale. More recently, Campbell and the Bison placed ninth among 24 schools on Oct. 6-7 at the Princeton Invitational, where Campbell finished in a tie for 22nd out of 119 golfers. She finished the two-day tournament with a 169-stroke mark.
The golf team returns to action on Oct. 11-13 when it participates in the Rutgers Invitational.
