LEWISBURG, PA - Three Bucknell University football players were honored Tuesday afternoon at the Lewisburg Touchdown Club Luncheon. The player of the game honors for the Columbia contest were selected by the Bucknell coaching staff and publicly announced at the weekly affair.
Sophomore wide receiver Jim Horan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) was tabbed as the Offensive-Player-of-the-Game after making the game-winning catch to propel the Bison to their 12-10 victory. Horan led all receivers in the game with five receptions for 81 yards, including the eight-yard touchdown reception with just 0:20 left in the contest. The 6'2," 180-pound split end also had a 44-yard reception to set up Bucknell's first score in the game.
Senior defensive end Tom Kuhn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle) was named the Defensive-Player-of-the-Game. Kuhn finished the game with eight tackles (3 solo) and was in the Lion backfield all day. He registered a quarterback sack and three tackles for a loss of yardage. His hard work helped the Bison defense limit Columbia to 200 total yards in the contest.
Junior running back Ricco Rosini (Shamokin, Pa./Southern Columbia) was chosen as the Special Teams-Player-of-the-Game. Rosini has battled back from injury to become one the leaders of Bucknell's very successful special teams units. He made three tackles against Columbia, including a pair of unassisted hits, and was involved in all areas of special teams play. The Bison special teams unit forced the Lions to start at an average of their own 20-yard line, while Bucknell began its drives, on average, at its own 42 yard line.
Bucknell will wrap up its three-game homestand with a contest against undefeated Duquesne on Saturday, September 30. Kickoff at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium is 1:00 p.m.
