Crowe Wins Subway Athlete Of The Month Award For November

Lewisburg, Pa. --- Bucknell junior Christina Crowe (State College, Pa./State College) has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of November in Cross Country.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, December 4. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. Other winners for the month of November, as selected by the respective coaches, included junior Andrea Nyce in indoor track and field, freshman Desire Almind in basketball, and senior Megan Jones in swimming and diving.
Crowe, a cross country and distance track runner, was consistently a solid competitor as a top five runner for Bucknell. She finished 40th with a time of 22:27.03 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic cross country meet hosted by Penn State. Crowe also came in 15th with a time of 18:30.8 in the 5000m at the ECAC Championships in New York.
The women's cross country team has put together another impressive season in 2000 by repeating as champions in the Patriot League. Bucknell also finished first among ten schools at the ECAC Championship and fourth out of 24 schools at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic meet.
