Volleyball Team Clinches Patriot League Regular Season Title With 3-1 Victory Over Colgate

Lewisburg, Pa. - This evening the Bucknell women's volleyball team clinched the regular season Patriot League title with a 3-1 victory over the Colgate Red Raiders. The Bison finish the season with a 15-14 overall record and a 10-2 league record.
Having yet another outstanding contest was junior Shannon Walker (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield) with 23 kills on 40 attempts while only committing five errors. Walker led the Bison with a .450 hitting percentage. Recording a double-double for the Orange and Blue was senior Brooke Bader (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) with 16 kills and 12 digs.
The Red Raiders were led by the hitting of sophomore Amanda Routman (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Pine Crest) and senior Lisa Breiner (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame). Routman and Breiner finished the match with 17 kills each. With 18 defensive digs, Routman recorded a double-double for Colgate while leading the team in this category.
Bucknell with its 10-2 Patriot League record will be the first seed in next weekend's Patriot League Championship Tournament. Making the trip to Lewisburg, Pa. will be the second seed Colgate, third seed Army, and fourth seed Lehigh. Tournament action will begin on Saturday, November 18 at 11:30 a.m. with the second match immediately following. The Bison are hosting the tournament for the first time since the 1998 season.
