Quarterback Lucas Phillips Named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, PA - Bucknell University senior quarterback Lucas Phillips (Glen Burnie, Md./Mt. St. Joseph's) was chosen as the Patriot League's Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 29, 2000.
Phillips completed 20-of-34 passes for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Bucknell to a 27-13 victory over Fordham. The 6'1," 180-pound signal caller threw a four-yard touchdown strike in the first quarter and then completed a three-yard scoring pass in the third. His play helped Bucknell clinch its sixth straight winning season, and allowed the Bison senior class to tie the school mark for wins in a four-year period with 29.
For the season, Phillips has completed 125-of-229 passes (54.6%) for 1,334 yards and seven touchdowns. In the last five games, he has completd 61.4% of his passes, thrown six touchdown strikes, and raised his passing efficiency 40.91 points to 110.11.
Bucknell takes to the road for a crucial Patriot League game with Holy Cross on Saturday. Kickoff at Fitton Field is at 12:00 p.m.
