Split Men's Squad Takes First Place at the Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Bucknell University men's and
women's cross country teams split their squads and competed at
both Susquehanna and Lock Haven earlier today. At the Susquehanna
Invitational the men's team finished first with 24 points, while
the women's team finished second behind host Susquehanna with
47 points.
Senior Matt Davis (Bay Head, N.J./The Peddie School) finished
as the men's top runner for Bucknell, crossing the line in second
place with a time of 27:20. Freshman Nicholas Mousetis (Lititz,
Pa./Manheim Township) was close behind in third place with a time
of 27.22. Freshman Eric Heikkila (Brattleboro, Vt./Northfield-Mt.
Hermon) was fourth in 27.33, while classmates Sean McCarthy (Moscow,
Pa./North Pocono) and Marcus Jones (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal)
finished eighth and ninth, respectively in times of 27.50 and
27:54. The Bison placed four in the top-10 and 10 in the top-20
to dominate the race.
Sophomore Michelle Baylor (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) was the
women's top finisher, crossing the line in sixth place with a
time of 20:51. Freshman Stephanie Keller (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata)
and sophomore Nicole Lynn (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) finished
eighth and ninth, respectively, with times of 20:54 and 21:04.
The Bucknell women placed seven runners among the top-20.
The Bucknell men's and women's cross country teams will be back
in action on Saturday, October 14, when they travel to Iowa State
for the Pre-NCAA Meet.
