Weatherhill Named Patriot League Athlete of the Week for Sept. 25- Oct. 2, 2000

LEWISBURG, PA - Bucknell University cross country runners
Becki Marshall (Montgomery, N.Y./Pine Bush Central) and Kevin
Weatherill (Swedesboro, N.J./The Peddie School) were selected
as the Patriot League's Cross Country Athletes of the Week for
the week ending Sunday, October 1, 2000.
Marshall, last year's Patriot League individual champion, led
the Bison to victory at the Lock Haven Invitational by crossing
the finish line first in a 6K-time of 21:30, besting teammate
Theresa Dennis by 25 seconds. It is her second Patriot League
Athlete of the Week honor this season.
Weatherill led the men's squad to a team title at the Lock Haven
Invitational by finishing the race in second place with a 10K-time
of 31:32. He has been the Orange and Blue's top runner in two
of the three races this fall.
Both the men's and women's teams will next be in action on October
14 when they travel to Ames, Iowa, for the Pre-NCAA Meet. Other
members of the squad will race at the Duquesne Invitational that
day.
