Scott Lotze joined the Bucknell Athletics & Recreation staff in the summer of 2019 as the coordinator of intramural sports, and in 2023 he was promoted to assistant AD for recreation services. In that role, Lotze oversees Bucknell's broad-based campus recreation offerings, including club sports, group fitness, and intramurals.

Lotze earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from SUNY Brockport. He served as the school's graduate assistant for club sports and intramurals from 2013-15 while completing his master's in recreation and leisure service management.

In July 2015, he began a four-year stint as the assistant director of campus recreation and intramurals at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. Among a myriad of duties at Lander, Lotze managed and implemented more than 30 recreational programs, trained and supervised a large student staff, served as the adviser and coach for the club baseball team, and planned five student outdoor adventure trips per semester.
