Rachel Hartman joined the Bucknell athletic training staff in July 2026 after serving as a student-athletic trainer at Bucknell for three months while earning her Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Messiah University.Â
Hartman most recently worked at Bucknell with the men’s lacrosse team as a student-athletic trainer where she worked closely with the certified AT while gaining clinical experience.Â
Prior to coming to Bucknell, Hartman spent five months at Dickinson College where she worked closely with the football team. She also spent time gaining clinical experience at three different high schools; Mechanicsburg Area High School (Aug.-Sept. 2025), Central Dauphin High School (Sept.-Dec. 2025) and Trinity High School (2024).
While at each of these previous stops, Hartman has practiced the accurate and precise taping of athletes, demonstrated rehabilitation exercises, communicated with coaches regarding athlete care and evaluated and performed sideline care. Under the supervision of a certified AT she has participated in decisions regarding further care and performed injury evaluations and rehabilitation. At Central Dauphin High School specifically, Hartman collaborated with the traveling athletic trainers when hosting District 3 Soccer Championships and State Field Hockey Semifinals.
Outside of her experience in the academic sports system, Hartman gained clinical experience with the Hershey Cubs USPHL Hockey Team, where she spent two months in 2025. While there, she assisted with pre and post practice and game treatments, provided immediate sideline care, performed injury evaluations and rehabilitation under the supervision of a certified AT and collaborated with team physicians, coaching staff and athletes to manage return-to-play protocols.
Hartman also spent time with Penn State Health Therapy Services in 2025 where she collaborated with physical therapists to gain knowledge on rehabilitation exercises and how to build successful home exercise programs.
Hartman graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science with a concentration in athletic training from Messiah University in 2025. She then graduated from Messiah with a Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2026.
