Liz Brookhouse is a sport psychology consultant and the owner of Delta Mentality Performance Coaching. In this role, Liz works alongside her clients, empowering them to increase their potential and push the limits of what they thought to be possible. Her focus is specifically on helping individuals and organizations develop mental toughness, establish high-performance cultures, and enhance leadership skills.
Liz works primarily with Bucknell University and active duty Air Force pilots throughout their training pipeline. Previously, Liz held positions as a Mental Performance Coach with the Army Human Performance Group and as the Lead Performance Expert at the Ready and Resilient Center at Fort Polk in Louisiana. As part of the Army Human Performance Group she helped research, teach, and coach Soldiers to be tactical athletes and collaborated with the Army Resilience Directorate and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Previous to that, as the Lead Performance Expert at Fort Polk, Liz was responsible for leading a team in opening a new training center to build resilience and improve performance of soldiers, their families, and civilians at the U.S. Army's Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) – the premier training grounds for soldiers deploying to combat zones. Since beginning her own consulting practice, Liz has worked with athletes from all levels of competition to help them reach their full potential. Some of her most recent work has been in developing a scalable mental performance coaching program for athletes and coaches participating in club sports and a couch-to-habit physical activity program to promote life-long physical activity and mental health.
Liz earned her B.S. in exercise physiology from Michigan State University and her M.S. in sport and performance psychology from Miami University (Ohio). Liz is a member of the Association of Applied Sport Psychology and is working toward the designation of Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC). In her spare time she enjoys swimming, biking, and running and occasionally does all three on the same day when she competes in Ironman triathlons.
